History
Trinity Christian Academy was birthed in the hearts of Pastor Mark Harris and the people of Trinity Baptist Church in the spring of 2025. The church had been seeking the Lord about the possibility of establishing a Christian school when an opportunity became available to secure space at the Mt. Mourne school facility on Mecklenburg Hwy.
Mt. Mourne school had a rich 75-year history operating in Mooresville. The Iredell school district decided to close the school post Covid, and it was purchased by a family with deep roots to the school. Three generations of the Howard family attended the school including local businessman Rick Howard, his mother and his son Brad.
In the spring of 2025, Trinity Baptist Church worked with the Howard family to secure Mount Mourne School as the home for Trinity Christian Academy. Trinity Christian Academy (TCA) will open in August 2026 and will offer a dynamic Christian education experience for families that will substantially impact the Mooresville community for the cause of Christ and generations to come.
The creation of TCA and its commitment to excellence will honor the Howard’s family enduring commitment to provide quality education to the Mooresville community through the historical facilities of Mt. Mourne.
At TCA, we are committed to enhancing and pursuing college-preparatory programs and looking to the future for our students, our campus, and our community. More importantly, we are passionately committed to train this generation to have a close relationship with Our Creator and to grasp the importance of having a Biblical worldview.
